Sorry I didn't check in last night with the rest of Day 6 details. My husband and I did BodyBeast Bulk: Shoulders, Bulk: Arms and Beast Abs and by the time I was done I was spent. My 3 year old decided that the world would end if she couldn't have a pacifier for bed time (a bad habit we are just now breaking) So I climbed in bed with her to comfort her while she fell asleep and I just might have been more tired than she was :) I had a great night's sleep and woke up this morning weighing 181.8, that's a 6 pound loss in 6 days. I do hope the momentum continues but I am not going to hold my breath. I've tried countless diet products, exercise routines and meal plans and haven't seen lasting success like this. Today food has been on pointe, I did a slimfast for breakfast and those flat pretzel things with hummus for a snack. Lunch was chicken with steamed mixed veggies. My afternoon snack will be a pear and a cheese stick (already sitting out on my desk) No Excuses!! Tonight is the last night of swim lessons for my middle two kids (5 and 3) so dinner will be after we get home at about 6:30. I will probably try making Shakshuka for dinner tonight, it's an egg main dish with tomato and red pepper sauce with eggs poached in the sauce and garnished with a little cheese and cilantro. I've been wanting to try it and we don't have much meat in the house right now, so perfect opportunity.
Okay I finally got my before picture up. Sorry no bare skin for me, I was at work and using the scale here. I wanted to have a constant place to weight from the very beginning, since I heard the Scale Down scale takes weeks to arrive. When it does come in the mail I will weigh on them side by side and note any difference for you.
This morning I weighed in at 182.0 that's 5.8 pounds lost in four full days (I know today is the 5th day I took the pill). I'm so excited, I'm sure that it will slow down from here cause it seems that most weight loss adventures do. I'll keep you posted.
This morning my exercise partner (aka hubby) rescheduled for this afternoon so I decided to do a quick 10 minutes cardio exercise just to get the day off to a good start. It's almost noon and since then I have also done 15 flights of stairs as a break from work!! Meal today so far is a cheese stick and mixed raw veggies (red pepper, carrots, zuchinni) and a sugar free "No Fear" energy drink with added sugar free raspberry syrup. A note about sugar free drinks or foods they do still have calories! So my sugar free drink was still about 30 calories total. Lunch will be left over bbq chicken and veggies (whatever the cafeteria makes today). Not sure about dinner yet. I'll keep you posted. Well I derailed myself at lunch. I had a friend come visit me at work and she bought me lunch as a thank you for being an ear to listen. In hindsight I'm sure she wouldn't have been offended if I had said you know I am really trying to watch what I eat and I would love to chat with you over lunch but I've brought my own. Instead I went with her to the cafeteria and got 3 chicken strips and a side of fries :( I will tell you how much weight that cost me in the morning. On a positive note I did my cardio for the day. I had Cardio X (from P90X schedule) on the list for today but my workout partner had already done his so I decided to switch it up and do a little Insanity Max Cardio Intervals. If you aren't familiar with the beachbody website you should check it out they have tons of great exercise DVDs and supplements with great coaches. Insanity is just another workout program I have tried and quit in the past. No headaches or dizziness, no stomachaches or any symptoms today. I am working on my last 10 ounces to get to my 64 ounce goal for today. It seems to be a pattern to drink most of my water in the evening, I'll have to step up my game if I want to increase that amount. I am not much of a water drinker, have I mentioned that before? I hate water! It gives me acid reflux :( Oh and I promised you some pictures I think I don't have them on this computer but I will post them tomorrow :) Promise. Half way through the first week. Normally I would post at the end of the day (and I still will to give you a brief food log and add to my feelings etc)
The reason for my early post today is because I got up early and started P90X this morning, working out when you are out of shape is hard enough and I must add that I have been having some dizziness since my workout and it ended about 2 hours ago. Nothing severe, it hasn't kept me from doing my normal daily tasks and doesn't seem to bother me unless I stand up quickly or turn my head too quickly. I am prone to dizziness and usually have a sever case of vertigo that lands me in bed for a few days at least once a year and I get dizzy with each of my pregnancies or when I workout too hard. With that said, do I think the medication caused my dizziness? Yes probably. Almost any diet pill I have ever taken has caused some degree of dizziness and for me, since it doesn't interfere with my daily life it's worth it. So for the good news I am at 184.4 this morning! That's a 3.4 pound loss in 3 days I woke up with a tummy ache this morning although I'm not ready to chalk it up to the Contrave just yet since my hubby and one of my kiddos had a tummy ache all evening yesterday. This morning I took the 3rd dose of Contrave and still don't have any side effects other than a little bit of sleepiness that seems to come and go throughout the day.
This first three days has been the weekend so we will see how this work week goes starting tomorrow. Today I started off with my Contrave then a piece of wheat toast with half a serving of peanut butter and a half glass of protein powder and the daily greens from "It Works". That's where my good food ended. I had a few cheddar bay biscuits after they came out of the oven also had leftover tuna casserole for my lunch. Dinner was seafood alfredo with light alfredo sauce, green beans and more of the cheddar bay biscuits. (I know that I ate too much and it wasn't the healthiest option) Tomorrow morning I have my alarm set early to get up and exercise with my husband before work. My goal for tomorrow is to actually get out of bed early ;) and get my exercise done then throughout the day drink 64 oz of water and use my 15 minute breaks to get out and take a walk. I weighed in at 186.4 this evening, that's up .2 from yesterday but still an overall lose from day one. Day 1 (yesterday)
I took my first dose of Contrave yesterday the moment I picked it up from the pharmacy. First a little about myself. I am a 32 year old mother of 4 and have been overweight most of my adulthood. I have tried diets and exercise programs, probably the most successful for me was P90X. That was years ago and I have packed on 60 pounds over three pregnancies since then. My stats: Weight: 187.8 (I will post before pictures tomorrow) Chest: 47 Arms: 13.25 Waist: 44 Hips: 47 Thighs: 22 Height: 5'4" So yesterday was day one and I started off at 1 pill once a day, I will move up to 2 a day next week. I did not have any side effects other than being a little more tired than I normally am in the evening. The pharmacist warned me that might happen so I was prepared. Day 2 I took the pills first thing in the morning and didn't seem to have any side effects. I did have more energy than I normally do in the mornings and even cleaned the kitchen after making breakfast for the kids. (That's unusual for me) Not a Morning Person!! I didn't seem to be hungry at all today and only ate a few bites of the kids' cream of wheat at breakfast, and some movie theater popcorn for lunch (I know not a healthy option). For dinner we had tuna noodle casserole with extra veggies. Today is Saturday and starting Monday I plan to start P90X again I know that some of you only want to know how much weight loss to expect on Contrave without diet and exercise and I apologize for that, For me I know that I need to create a healthier lifestyle after I am done taking Contrave so, no time like the present! Today I weighed in at 186.2, its -1.2 pounds in one day (probably just water weight but hey I'll take it) The Scale Down program that comes with the Contrave prescription has not sent me an email link for the free scale and from what I could find on the internet it can take a few weeks to process so I"ll keep you posted on that as well. |
